Hi Sunny
We were able to replicate the issue and have flagged it to our engineering team.
We will keep you updated as soon as there is any progress.
Hello, team. Any update about this topic?
Hi!
I’m also interested in the resolution of this issue.
no reaction?
i have just switched to the free plan.
Hi @s20211119d5fui7 @3330evegkrur3 @dosantoss @jocangel86ke1egt
Thanks for your patience.
The current solution is to set the Google Translate API key in project settings, as mentioned here: App Settings | Thunkable Docs
Here are the steps:
Has anyone used Google Translation API, and made a Sample Project or one in the Public Gallery? Link to it?
Has anyone tried to create an API for Yandex Cloud and then made a Sample Project or one in the Public Gallery? Link to it?
Since the Yandex translator in Thunkable is currently failing, has anyone tried create a translation app using the LibreTranslate API (a free, open-source alternative that doesn’t require an API key for basic usage)? Any apps in Sample Project or the Public Gallery? Link to it?
I’m gonna test Libretranslate, thanks for the free alternative!
Since the translator is included in my published app, it would be a financial disaster for me if every user used it…).
@ioannis Does the Thunkable Team plan to add Google translate API on Snap-to-Place version ?
Hi @dosantoss
I haven’t received an update about this from the engineers yet.
I believe that you could implement the Google Translate API using the Web API component on Snap-to-Place
Hi @s20211119d5fui7 @dosantoss @douglas.itkin3v3y7h @3330evegkrur3 @jocangel86ke1egt thank you again for your patience. I would like to let you know that we have now officially released a fix for this bug.
Please keep in mind that you may need to do a hard refresh of your browser for the changes to take effect in your project. If this issue is present on the Thunkable Live app, you will want to update that through the App Store and/or Google Play Store before any changes will occur.
If your downloaded app is affected by this bug, you will need to re-download your app for these changes to take effect.
If your published app is affected by this bug, you will need to set the Google API key and then re-publish your app for these changes to take effect.
Hi @ioannis!
Thanks for the update.
On a Drag-and-drop test app, using Thunkable live (updated version), the translation block still refers to Yandex translate, and doesn’t work even with a Google Cloud translation API key (iOS device and no restriction API keys tested).
Hi @dosantoss
Could you please make sure that you are using version 530 on the Thunkable live app?
You were right, I didn’t update Thunkable live to the latest version…
Works well now, thank you !
