Thunkable Translate API is no longer available

When I using the component translate today, the message shows, is it outdated?

Thunkable Yandex.Translate API is no longer available. Please switch to Translate service in Yandex.Cloud

Thanks

Hello, team. Any update about this topic?

Hi!

I’m also interested in the resolution of this issue.

no reaction?
i have just switched to the free plan.

Hi @s20211119d5fui7 @3330evegkrur3 @dosantoss @jocangel86ke1egt
Thanks for your patience.
The current solution is to set the Google Translate API key in project settings, as mentioned here: App Settings | Thunkable Docs

Here are the steps:

  1. Starting from Google Cloud Console, navigate to Cloud Translation API - Google Cloud console
  2. Enable Cloud Translation API & set up billing (your first $300 of credits are free from Google)
  3. Once enabled, click Manage. Go through the OAuth consent screen settings
  4. Scroll down to API Keys. Above it you will see a button, +Create credentials. Select API Key.
  5. Create the API Key, and copy/paste it into the Google Cloud Translation API Key in Thunkable

Has anyone used Google Translation API, and made a Sample Project or one in the Public Gallery? Link to it?

Has anyone tried to create an API for Yandex Cloud and then made a Sample Project or one in the Public Gallery? Link to it?

Since the Yandex translator in Thunkable is currently failing, has anyone tried create a translation app using the LibreTranslate API (a free, open-source alternative that doesn’t require an API key for basic usage)? Any apps in Sample Project or the Public Gallery? Link to it?

I’m gonna test Libretranslate, thanks for the free alternative!

Since the translator is included in my published app, it would be a financial disaster for me if every user used it…).

@ioannis Does the Thunkable Team plan to add Google translate API on Snap-to-Place version ?

Hi @dosantoss
I haven’t received an update about this from the engineers yet.
I believe that you could implement the Google Translate API using the Web API component on Snap-to-Place
