Seeking Teacher Feedback on Thunkable's Recent Changes & Education License

Subject: Seeking Teacher Feedback on Thunkable’s Recent Changes & Education License

Hello fellow educators,

I am writing to gather your feedback on the recent changes to Thunkable.

For the past eight years, I have been using both MIT App Inventor and Thunkable in my classroom. I’ve always valued Thunkable as a great, student-oriented entry-level platform, particularly given its origins as an offshoot of MIT App Inventor.

However, I’ve noticed significant recent changes to its operations and public-facing site. Before I continue integrating it into my curriculum—especially alongside tools like Adobe XD and AI—I would appreciate hearing about other teachers’ experiences with the new version.

Specifically, I am asking for feedback on:

  • Your general experience using the new version of Thunkable in the classroom.

  • Your school’s experience with the Education License.

  • How you feel the platform now compares to its earlier versions and its roots with MIT App Inventor.

Any insights you can share about your experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
