Custom In-App Notification Plugin

Hi all,

I have been playing around with the In-App Notification plugin today with a view to integrating it into my current app project and I have a few questions. There doesn’t seem to be a ton of info available on this module so it would be great if we could share some best practice.

Questions as follows:

  1. I’m having trouble resizing the background of the group component that it needs to sit in. Despite selecting “stretch”, it still contains this unsightly grey bar down the right hand side. How do I overcome this?

  1. While it’s great that we can add pictures to our notifications, it looks like there is only the option to link to a web-hosted image with a URL:

2 a) Is there a way to make this component display images directly from our stored assets?
2 b) If the answer is no, is there a way to display images even if the user’s device is offline?

  2. Does this module work on both iOS and Android?

  3. Are there any other tips/watchouts Thunkable creators should be aware of when using this module?

Thanks,

Grant

While batman is mysteriously absent, I am pleased to announce to absolutely nobody at all that I have managed to answer questions 2a & 2b.

You can set the image URL to the name of an image asset in your project (via the filename) and it will call it. You can also do this via blocks if you need it to change.

Hello @grant.mccallum
I am not the developer of this module but I uploaded an image on the project’s assets, set the file name on the image field and it worked

Sorry, don’t know the answer to that one!

Downgraded to Robin.

This will probably be as close to an answer as we’ll get for this.

On the one hand, it was answered by me in the post directly above yours but on the other, you did provide magnificent screenshots so I guess you’ve earned your solution status.
