Hello! I’ve been having a lot of trouble finishing my app. Because there are more and more blocks and information, it’s getting slower and slower. Although it’s frustrating having to wait a minute to add a simple element, I’ve been doing it this way… but it won’t let me do anything. Every 10 seconds it crashes and says the page isn’t responding… I’ve tried every possible browser. I have a fiber optic LAN connection, so the problem must be with Thunkable and its limited memory capacity. Is there any way to solucionate it? I need an urgent solution, please. I can’t finish my app like this, because thunkable crash every time I try to do something in a view with lot of blocks. Greetings and thank you!
Hi @mcm4ts sorry you are seeing some of these issues. Thunkable is a fairly complex web app so these issues can happen in large projects with many blocks and screens. When your browser runs out of memory and pages start stalling, it’s usually due to high RAM usage from heavy tabs, extensions, or complex web apps. Here are some practical suggestions to troubleshoot and prevent it:
- Close Unused Tabs & Windows
Each tab consumes memory—even inactive ones. Try to keep only essential tabs open. - Restart the Browser
Fully quit and reopen the browser to clear memory leaks or stuck processes. - Clear Browser Cache
Sometimes, bloated cache can slow things down.
- In Chrome:
Settings > Privacy & Security > Clear browsing data
.
- Disable Unnecessary Extensions
Some extensions consume significant memory. Disable or remove ones you don’t need. - Use the Browser Task Manager
- In Chrome:
Shift + Esc
Identify tabs or extensions using a lot of memory and end them.
- Check System Resource Usage
Use Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) to see if your browser is maxing out system memory. - Open in Incognito/Private Window
This disables extensions temporarily and helps test performance without add-ons. - Use a Different Browser
Some browsers (like Firefox or Edge) may handle certain pages better, depending on the site and extensions. - Split Work Across Multiple Browser Profiles
Running multiple profiles (with fewer extensions) can isolate memory use. - Restart Your Computer
Clears memory fully and resets background processes. - Upgrade RAM
If it happens frequently and you are using other heavy web tools (e.g., video editors, design tools, large datasets), consider increasing your system memory.
