Seeking help with a simple app

I am looking to create a very simple app for my sailing team. I will not be marketing or monetizing this app as I just want to create something simple for me team… The app would be a max of 2 screens (for initial build). Sailing a large boat with as many as 7 team members requires exceptional coordination, sequencing and teamwork. In an effort to help strengthen our boat handling skills, I’ve designed a very simple app (ideally that works offline) that would allow the user to select the sailing maneuver, and the crew position from drop down menus. The filtered results would show the specific sequence of steps that crew member is responsible for. Example:

Maneuver => A Bear Away Spinnaker Set

Crew Position => Bow

Results => A list of ~ 6 tasks / steps the Bow person is responsible during the Bear away set…

I have built a Google sheet that maps the maneuvers, positions and tasks together. So the backend is essentially built.

I have a graphic I’d like included on the app as well.

Important aspects:

  1.  I want the app to be super easy for my team to download to their phone.  If it’s a hassle, I fear no one will bother.

  2.  I need a simple way for me to update the backend – I expect to make some corrections, and will need to add additional maneuvers and steps.

Is there someone who would be willing to help me out – at least help me get started?

I have no coding experience, and plowing through ~ 4 hours of tutorials hasn’t led me to much success thus far…

Sorry for the slow response. I had an accident which required surgery.

Since this is a “hobby project” I really can’t justify spending much on this solution… Based on my requirements, and the fact that i have established the backend - how much effort Time & cost do you think this would require??

Thanks for getting back to me, and I’m really sorry to hear about your accident - I hope recovery is going as smoothly as possible. Please don’t worry about the delay, your health comes first.

Since you’ve already got the backend in place, what you’re asking for is actually quite focused: just a clean 2–3 screen app with dropdowns for maneuvers, role responsibilities, and offline access. That’s very achievable in Thunkable without needing a massive build.

In terms of effort, I’d estimate around 6–8 hours of work total, which would usually put the project in the $250–$350 range. That’s just a ballpark - I’d be able to give you an accurate, no-obligation quote once I’ve seen the project itself during a quick call.
