Hello,
Until a few days ago, I was able to copy (CTRL + C) paste (CTRL + V) blocks from one tab to another of the same project, now it doesn’t work anymore, does anyone know why?
do I have too many cards in the project?
is the project too big?
Are you using the Drag & Drop interface or the Snap to Place one?
When you say “from one tab to another,” what exactly do you mean? Are you copying and pasting between screens in the same project or do you have the project open twice in two browser tabs and you’re pasting between browser tabs?
I use the Drag & Drop interface.
I am copying and pasting between screens of the same project. single screen
It’s worked for me before but I just tried to copy and paste from one screen to another in the Drag & Drop interface and it didn’t work. Instead, even though I pasted into the second screen, it added duplicate blocks to the first screen and formatted them strangely:
My steps:
- Click on
when PDF Viewer Opens
block in screen 1. - Press cmd+c (Mac) to copy
- Click on screen 2
- Press cmd+v (Mac) to paste
- Duplicate blocks do not appear in screen 2.
- Duplicate blocks appear in screen 1 but are formatted oddly.
Exactly, it worked fine before, copying and pasting the block onto the screen correctly
I can confirm same results, I use this feature a lot. Can it be looked at @domhnallohanlon @wei
Reported here:
Hi @tatiang !
Same Problem in the regular version of Thunkable X.
Yes, same issue here. I can fix oddly blocks by collapse block and un-collapse again. But the block not copy to another screen (in the same app).!! need it to fix ASAP.
Thanks.
Hi all
Just wanted to touch base here. I am seeing the same.
It’s never convenient when things aren’t working. Sorry for the inconvenience here, Thunkers. I am pinging the devs on this now and will keep you all apprised as developments are made. Thank you.
I found another problem after this last update: when you rename an component in design tab, sometimes the name is not updated in the blocks tab.
Anyway, this not cause any inconsistency, and if you close/reopen the project the name appears correctly.
But I think someone needs to check it.

Paulo Vaz
Apparently, there is a big issue with changelog procedure in Thunkable and this is not the first time.
I hope you, @jared , can bring up this issue with the team to follow the procedure and if there is not one yet then I trust you can come up with one that will reduce such incidents.
Yes, I’ve been seeing this for a few days. I’ll change a component’s name (mostly Data Viewer Lists) and the blocks will still have the old name.
Can Thunkable work on temp server before update in real server? When it’s not working on real server it will slowdown my work. Sometime we promised customer to fixed bugs and we cannot keep promised on time.
Thanks.
Hi @jared, sorry for disturb you, but I have lots of blocks to copy & paste in my project (because the user functions are not global between the screens [another interesting to create in the future]).
Any feedback from the staff when this issue will be corrected?
Regards,
Paulo Vaz
A fix asap would be great. I have 28 students with an assignment deadline all waiting for this to be fixed.
No updates yet, we’re not sure why that’s happening as it is just yet. I have pinged the team and will come back here when I know more.
Other bugs I am experiencing
- failure to update the tables in “real time” I have to close the browser and reopen it
(if I add a column with title, either on google sheet or in the internal table of the project, this after the synchronization is not updated in the “Data Sources” - failure to update the name of the variables
(if I change the name of a variable, normally all the variables are renamed automatically, currently this has not happened a couple of times)
Hi, just wondering if there’s any progress on this issue yet? Not being able to copy and paste blocks from screen to screen is resulting in many hours of extra work… Thanks!
Hi all! Thanks for bearing with us here. @paulmw and the team were able to push out a fix for this tonight!!! Thanks a million for this, eng team! Copy/Paste for blocks is now working as expected!
