How “When variable ____ initialize or change” component works?

Hi,

I would like to understand if the component “When variable ____ initialize or change” works just if the variable change in the same screen or if it works when the variable is changed in a diferent screen.

In my case i have a timer.
In screen A the i have the “when timer fires” component to set a variable value.
In screen B i have the “When variable ____ initialize or change” component but nothing happens!
