Hi. I’m a speech therapist. I have a set of Sound Cues, pictures/symbols that represent each sound in English. I want to create an app that would allow users to select and put my Sound Cues in a specific order and then hear the word that they created. Maybe also going the other way, where they type or say a word and the app shows them the Sound Cues for the word. I’m a bit concerned that this is going to get really technical really fast. The pronunciation will need to be accurate. I know Google has a “How to pronounce” feature where it shows you the phonetic transcription of a word and then a recording of how it sounds. It is fairly accurate - but I do not have google level skills or resources. How close is Thunkable going to be able to help me achieve what I am hoping for? Thanks for your help.
It’s possible but I don’t know how the pronounciation will sound. It can be tricky to have sounds load and play very quickly if that’s needed.
You’d likely be using an API (a third-party cloud-based service) from Google which also would require some time to process and download the sound files.
You’re describing something quite technical and it would be a lot of work but I do think it’s possible with Thunkable.
Thanks for the reply and honesty. I was looking at a text to speech reading app that says it uses googles pronunciation tool. If I can somehow get access to this that might be a big help. I’ll look into it more.
My son is non verbal i wanted to make an app for him what you want you may have to do the audio your self then have it as mp3 then add it to play when click
