Understanding Rows and Columns

If you create a new app and add two rows, you end up with two rows (duh)–one on top of the other. However, if you create a new app and add two COLUMNS, you end up with … what looks to me exactly the same–two rows. Can someone clarify what’s happening here? (How would adding two columns create a layout with two side by side columns?)

Thanks!

Hey there! Rows and columns differiate when you add other components inside a row or a colum. If you add in example 2 pictures into a row then they would be next to each other. If you add them into a column then one image would be below the other one.
