I am building an app called TALENTS BF using Thunkable AI. I already have an existing Supabase project with two tables: “profils_joueurs” and “profils_recruteurs”.
I want to connect this existing Supabase project to my app without creating another database, and I need to preserve my existing tables and Row Level Security (RLS) policies.
Does Thunkable officially support connecting an existing Supabase project through its REST API or custom HTTP requests? If so, could you please provide the recommended method?
I cannot speak for the Thunkable team on official support, but Supabase exposes every table through a standard REST endpoint, so any tool that can send HTTP requests can usually connect without changing the existing tables. The general pattern is to call the project’s REST URL for the table with the apikey header set to the anon key, and to pass the signed-in user’s access token in the Authorization header as a Bearer token so that the Row Level Security policies are evaluated for that user. The service role key should never be placed inside a mobile app, because it bypasses RLS entirely. Testing the same request in a REST client first, with and without the user token, is a quick way to confirm that the policies behave as intended before wiring it into the app.
You should then see this screen. If you then click on Create a new database, you should then see all the databases in your Supabase account that you connect to and use instead of making a new one.
