OpenAI tools in thunkable?

do you need a gpt 4 api key for the ai tools?

Hello @ruhaan.j140u
Welcome to the community
The Open AI blocks we have don’t use the GPT 4. You can use a regular Open AI API key.
If you need GPT 4 you can check this post here: GPT-4o vision capability - Questions about Thunkable / Web API’s - Community

Hi thank you I am using the regular api key for image generation it is not working

Hello @shriti.shahsi6
Do you receive any errors?
Could you please share the specific project URL with us so we can investigate it further?

yes Thunkable

Hello @shriti.shahsi6
Thank you for sharing your project
The issue is the API key.
To generate a personal Open AI API key the steps are:

  1. Navigate to https://openai.com/api/
  2. Click Sign Up.
  3. On the Overview page, click your avatar to show the menu and select View API Keys.
  4. Select Create new secret key.
  5. Copy the secret key that is provided in the popup window. You will need to paste this into your Thunkable project.

I have done this for the secret key in the project. Do you need to buy gpt4 for this? And i clicked the https://openai.com/api/ that link brings me somewhere else

Hi @shriti.shahsi6
On the project you shared, you where adding a URL.
API key is not a URL
You can find it here: https://platform.openai.com/settings/profile?tab=api-keys

Thank you, When I preview it this error message is showing up BLE functionality can’t be tested with the Thunkable Live app on iOS.
To test the BLE functionality in your app on iOS, please download your app.

@shriti.shahsi6 In the advanced block drawer, a BLE component has been added to your app. If your app is not intending to use BLE, you’ll want to remove the component (click on the gear icon and the click the delete button when the BLE modal is visible) or yes, you’ll see this message. BLE cannot be tested on iOS via the Thunkable Live app.

Thank you for that catch. When I test it it still isn’t generating the image or the text

An Open AI API key will be an alphanumeric string. The API key set in the project linked a few replies ago is set as a URL starting with https://. Remove the https:// and it should work.

its not. could you fix the project and preview it and get back to me?

Hello @shriti.shahsi6
Unfortunately, we can’t do it for you. You have to generate and set your own API key

Could you at least check it and preview it?

Yes that’s what im asking

it is ok can you just check it?

hello @ioannis is this topic closed on your side

Hello @shriti.shahsi6
After reviewing your project, I have identified the potential root cause issue and shared it with you.
