New Themes, Leaderboard, and Office Hours

Hi everyone,

In line with what Matt said in his post here, there are a few new things I will be added to our community site. The first of which is new themes.

If you don’t already know, if you go to ‘preferences’ then ‘interface’, you can change (for yourself) the look of the site. There are more themes I will be adding in the future, so keep an eye out for new themes.

I will also be rolling out the Leaderboard soon to test it out within the next day or so. Likely, since it is almost the end of the year, the Leaderboard will be for fun, but I would like to have some rewards associated with placement in the future potentially.

Lastly, I would like to hear about your thoughts on “Office hours”. There are a few ways I can see this happening so I would like some input. Is there a particular format that you would prefer? For example, do you prefer 1-on-1 office hours or group calls? Would you prefer “First come first serve” or more of a “schedule/wait list”? Any thoughts/opinions are welcome.

That would be such a nice christmas gift!

Thank you

About the “office hours”, i didn’t understand what it means, is it some time with thunkable staff?
Is it for support sessions or something else?

I wonder if there’s a way to do both. Perhaps have a themed group meeting (e.g. “Today, we’ll talk about local data sources”) but if two or more staff are available, there could be some 1-on-1 breakout meetings to go over tech support or more detailed questions. Generally, I’m more in favor of a group meeting because I think people learn more overall that way.

Right now, I’m thinking along the lines of either support sessions like “hey, I want to build this, how can I do that” or general building type questions. I would be open to debugging as well but those typically take a lot of time so I’m 50/50 on that.

Thanks for your thoughts. I think for the first iteration, a group setting does make more sense and I think it will be a better learning experience. For now, I’ll be the only one running it as kind of a beta test to see if there is interest. If it is successful, then I would like to eventually get more staff involved.
