Help fixing status bar and screen color

When I download my app for testing on my iPhone XS, sometimes the bar at the bottom is white when the screen color is dark black, is this a problem when I publish to the App Store or is it only a problem when downloading?

Also, is there a way to make the status bar background black with white text, bc when I downloaded I haven’t been able to. Is it a setting that also only works when on AppStore? Thank you
