Try using the old type variable. To do this, add a procedure to the screen, create a variable in it, and then delete it. A block of this variable will appear in the block palette.

At the forum, I saw messages that there are problems with global variables of the new type, so I suggested that you use the old type of variable, with which there are no problems.

Please note that in most cases you can use the new cloud variables as a replacement for the Realtime DB component and everything becomes much simpler! A just deployed fix makes the new variables much more usable.
