why the data viewers do not simply have lists as their data source ?

You have List Viewer for that…
Data List Viewer is much more customizable, so it needs a more complex source.

I remember a time not so long ago when thunkable and other tools (through extensions) offered data viewers linked to lists, customization and efficiency
we cannot create a data source dynamically if I am not mistaken

If you are using StP then you can use clone blocks to produce something like a Data Viewer using lists.

that’s why importing data viewers from StP to DnD didn’t interest me more than that
I will turn to StP and the clones
