Bluetooth device not compatible with Bluetooth Low Energy

I’ve tried unsuccessfully to communicate with a Dual Skypro XGPS 160 antenna/receiver using Thunkable. The Dual uses Bluetooth, not Bluetooth Low Energy (perhaps because of the large amount of data that is transferred). Is there any way to communicate directly with this device from Thunkable? I can do it using a “helper” app like Bluetooth GNSS that talks to the Skypro and provides its data to any Android app. I was hoping to be able to talk directly to the Skypro and not need the helper app. Is this possible?
