Web Api external network

Goodmorning everyone,
I have created an app with the web api module. This app works correctly with wifi using both internal IP and static public IP. But when I use this app not in wifi (away from home) it doesn’t work. If I use the web api URL in firefox it opens the web page correctly. Why is the app unable to read the page?

Is this more an issue of connecting to a local IP when you’re not on the network?

You are right. I select local ip. Selecting external ip works.
