Tag Reference Guide

Tags are labels used to organize content and make it easier to find what you need. The tags listed below are the official set, carefully chosen to keep everything clear and consistent across the platform.

Content Type & Source

Used to indicate who made the content and what type it is.

  • staff – Content created by official staff.
  • community – Content created by community members.
  • tutorial – A complete, start-to-finish guide (must include novice, intermediate, or expert).
  • tips – Short tips or tricks; use this instead of tutorial for smaller insights.
  • best-practice – A highly recommended and widely accepted method of doing something.

Skill Level

Use one of these with a tutorial tag to indicate the experience level it’s meant for.

Performance & Debugging

For improving app speed or solving issues.

  • speed – Helps make apps run faster and more efficiently.
  • debug – Focused on identifying and fixing bugs or issues.

Authentication & Accounts

Use when the content is about user login, sign-up, or identity providers.

  • auth – Covers all login and authentication features.
  • google – Specific to Google components (e.g., Google Sheets, Google Sign-In).
  • apple – Specific to Apple components (e.g., Apple Sign-In).

Notifications & Messaging

Covers sending or receiving messages or alerts.

  • onesignal – Related to the OneSignal service for notifications.
  • push-notifications – General mobile or browser push notification systems.
  • alert – UI alerts shown to users.

Data Handling & Integration

Used when working with data, APIs, or external services.

  • webapi – Working with APIs over the web.
  • firebase – Firebase services like Firestore, Auth, or Storage.
  • airtable – Integration with Airtable as a data backend.
  • data-source – Anything related to where the data comes from.
  • data-viewer – Used when displaying or managing data on screen.
  • json – Content dealing with JSON structures.
  • object – Related to object data types or structured data.

Media Input & Recognition

Covers image, camera, and scanning features.

  • camera – Capturing input from a device’s camera.
  • qrcode – Reading or generating QR codes.
  • barcode – Reading or generating barcodes.
  • image – General image display or handling.
  • photo – Focused on working with photo images (can overlap with image).
  • image-recognition – Recognizing or analyzing content in images.
  • cloudinary – Working with Cloudinary for image hosting or manipulation.

Interface & UI

Use for UI components and how users interact with your app.

  • text-input – text input component.
  • text – Working with plain or formatted text/numbers.
  • canvas – canvas component.
  • design – Design-focused content like layout, visuals, or UX/UI.
  • pdf – Generating or using PDF files.

Misc

  • javascript – Code or logic written in JavaScript.
  • math – Calculations, formulas, or math-related logic.
  • translate – Language translation features.
  • ai – Artificial intelligence features or tools.
  • chat – Messaging or chat functionality.
  • email – Sending or interacting with email.
  • games – Creating or using games or game-like elements.

While this is the current official list, more tags may be added in the future if needed. It’s highly recommended to only use tags that have an icon next to them—these are the approved ones.
