Is Thunkable preparing to roll out a big update? I’m finding fascinating new blocks!
Here’s the Location drawer in my DnD project:
It’s using the Google Places API! So powerful.
Possible improvements:
- The addition of a distance block:
distance from [latitude 1] [longitude 1] to [latitude 2] [longitude 2]
And then what about a choice of “as the crow flies” or “driving distance”?
- The “search places” text at the top of the block is a little confusing because that’s where the actual search term goes. That field should be labeled “keyword” as it is in the Google Places API documentation.
Nothing to see here.
In all seriousness though, most of this is in Beta at the moment and we are aware of some issues with these blocks so we don’t suggest using anything you found above in any production apps you’re building.

Haha! I figured as much and assumed them to be early beta stage. Still exciting though!
And I hope you know I’m not complaining at all in these posts… just figuring the feedback will be helpful.
I stand corrected, these are no longer Beta, their release was just not documented.
Always appreciate the feedback on any block or feature @tatiang!
