If you want to remove the else, then drag it onto the gray field on the left side of the box. If you ask why the box size is changing, then I have a question, why should it not change? Can’t you remove the else from the block?

Drag the “else” unto the grayed area on the left if you want to remove it.
Drag it so that it attaches to the bottom of the “if” if you want to add it.
