It gives you angle of rotation of the knob.
You can drag only from 0 degree (red line of the knob image).

I like your sample…
is it possible to have it display to the user a message that shows if they are rotating the knob clockwise or anticlockwise?
Just record current and previous angle and calculate the difference. If it’s negative (decreasing) tell your user anticlockwise and if it’s positive tell them it’s turning clockwise.
