The header has way too much padding and takes up a third of the screen. I need a stack navigator to navigate the screens within my homepage. The stack navigator has that much spacing either way so its not something “nonstandard”, its a bug

Ok I think I see what the problem is. Even if you disable the “ShowIcon” and “ShowLabel” options, the tab navigator will still preserve the space dedicated for those two options.
