I can’t see firebase component to use for my project. I created a new firebase project but no web api key. Has Google removed api key for firebase project? What is the implication for Thunkable firebase project?

Do you mind sharing a quick screenshot of the new UI please @Patrick_Elisha?

Thanks!

The cloud variable component connects directly to Firebase, will that work for you?

Ok. That will be fine. Thank you.
My second question: Are you aware that new firebase project created don’t have web API key. Is it a new development? I created one today and don’t have api key to insert into my Thunkable project.

You can set this in your project settings if you want to use your own key, or (for quick tests) you can leave it blank to use ours.

Obviously, we’d recommend using your own key for production apps.

Here’s a link to how to switch to cloud variables from firebase Get and Save blocks.

> I just discovered a VERY simple and fast way to get and set Firebase data without using the GET or SAVE blocks (which has all sorts of asynchronous issues). The 2 any button click blocks below return the same data. Just put the GET block KEY variable into the CLOUD variable name and PRESTO. You have a synchronous call to firebase! Similarly, you can set data anywhere in the JSON Hierarchy using cloud variables. Both of the examples below update Firebase, but the CLOUD based solution…
