# Trying to find the Barcode Scanner

Hey everyone ! I am coming back here after almost 10 years.

Trying to make use of the Barcode Component, but the UI is completely changed from last time I was here and I can’t seem to find it under the design or block tabs.

I can see [Barcode Scanner | Thunkable Docs](https://docs.thunkable.com/snap-to-place/barcode-scanner) mentionning it and making use of it, but can’t for the love of me find the “call” function anywhere, can’t find where to add the scanner to my app, can’t find anything basically.

Any pointers would be much appreciated 🙂

Hello @ceo52 welcome to Thunkable.

It sou ds like youre referencing to the old docs for snap to place.  
However from what it sounds like you’re using the drag and drop builder, is that correct?

If so then tgere are QR code blocks in the camera section of the block editor.

Honestly, after 3 years it’s changed (I joined in 2022 and got back on in 2025) and I still can’t keep up. So it’s somewhat relatable.

You can reference to this; it’s a project with me using the Drag and Drop builder:
