# Text-To-Speech Web API without Backend Integration

Hi!

Is there any free Web API for TTS that doesn’t require backend integration on Thunkable?

So far I tried Elevenlabs which doesn’t work.

@ioannis hi… inbuilt text to speech block have very limited capabilities … I also found it to be very rudimentary. No blocks to change the pitch voice etc. it is like working in 2012.

If I had a choice to tell the thunkable team what first thing they should fix it will be sound component and text-to-speech. I personally struggled a lot and finally gave up. @pacecode offered Great paid help on using external TTS api but I wasn’t satisfied with the lag and amount of control I personally had over the whole process. finally gave up.

You can Try Google’s TTS API through Google Cloud, AWS has good TTS too!  
Thukable is using very Outdated AWS TTS’s Version, It’s New Versions are available.
