Hey guys, hope all is well.
I was just wondering if you could sort a data viewer’s list items alphabetically because you can do this with a simple list’s ‘set simple list text items to…’ but i dont see any block like this with the data viewer.

please help. Thanks and have a good day!

Hello,
if i got it right, you are looking for something like this block, correct?
 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/thunkable/original/3X/a/b/ab52d77244929fe20072badb014ad4dca3b62633.png)

You can find it in the “list” blocks, also if you click on “ascending” you can change it to “alphabetically”

Let me know if it works - of course make sure you replace the right block with your list

From where you are gathering data to show in the data viewer?

It would be ideal to sort the data before it’s shown there

Just been working on this.

Data is coming from Firebase and being sorted going in to the table.

The ‘get property of object’ will ultimately be switched out for a variable to allow user to choose the filtered field.

I know you might have tried it already, but if you click on a column you can select “Sort by”

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/thunkable/original/3X/4/f/4f78dac507ed24a39bc07a121feefc3007cf5c7a.png)

I had the same issue and this is why when i need to gather info from a database which i need to be sorted easily, i use [Airtable](https://airtable.com/invite/r/L29Rdhfd) - there is very useful function called “autosort” that auto sorts fields automatically once being added.

For google sheets you’ll need to work a bit on coding and maybe using automation - but i’m sure somebody else can help you better on this

oh ok thank you so much @maurizio.polverini89 for your help! I’ll use airtable as my data source now.

Once again, thanks a lot!

Just to let you know, Airtable is very good at something and very bad at something else.

If i should choose between Airtable and Google Sheet, i’d go for the second one all day long - but there are many things that one has and the one hasn’t and viceversa

I usually use them both depending on what i have to do

Good luck with your project!
