# \[Solved\] Background Location Updates

HI,

I have build an App which records users location and writes to my database. This is set on timer to run every x minutes.

However when the phone locks or user changes the app. This stops being recorded.

I have looked through a few posts which people have posted on here, i havent seen a solution. However it hast been mentioned for a while, so was seeing if anyone has found a solution.

Has there been any update to locations services running in the background?

Easiest example is an Uber Driver app where the driver may use their own navigation app while the driver app is not in the foreground
