# Setting default values for Custom Component properties not working \[Jan 9 2024\]

When adding a numeric input property as a component property via the settings tab, the builder crashes and requires a reset.

^^^ Can be recreated by:

- creating a new component.
- go to settings panel
- click edit properties
- click add property
- set property name
- set property as number via dropdown

- refresh editor
- give each a default value
- refresh the editor
- check these values again
