# Preview not working

Hi! For some reason, whenever I try preview (Live or web) I see my canvas flash before it disappears. It was working previously fine before and I tried deleting my most recent blocks, but its not working…

It seems to be an issue when you use the “set canvas label” and “set stage” blocks when the screen opens/starts or when the variables are initialized.

I have found a workaround, inside the “When screen open/start” and “when variable initializes or changes” blocks if you add a “wait 1 second” block first, everything works

Hi! Thanks for the help, it works now. It also seems that I forgot to define an app variable, and that fixed the problem 🙂

Please keep in mind that you may need to do a [hard refresh](https://docs.thunkable.com/getting-started/data-sources/data-sources#hard-refresh-your-browser) of your browser for the changes to take effect in your project. If your [web app](https://docs.thunkable.com/publishing-apps/publish-as-a-web-app-pro) is affected by this bug, you will need to re-publish it for these changes to take effect.
