# Open Link to open app?

Did anyone managed to open an app on the iPhone using open link?

It is possible to open other apps on iOS the apps have to support a custom URL scheme / universal link and you’ll have to know that in order for this to work.

I want to use a barcode scanner in my app.
Is it possible to open a barcode app from within my thunkable app?

So in the linked example, all three Twitter, YouTube and Instagram work as expected.
However, adding another button for Facebook with a “[https://www.facebook.com/cnn/](https://www.facebook.com/cnn/)” link simply refuses to cooperate and always opens the web page through the browser instead even if the app is installed. This happens on both iOS and Android.
Anyone seeing the same behavior or is it just me?
