# Only owner of a shared app is able to add a Data Source

It seems that only the owner of shared project is able to create a Data source.

This is a severe limitation in my opinion, as nothing about that is mentioned in the documentation and the error message is kind of cryptic.  
I am hoping for some fix or, at least, a clear mention of that fact in the documentation and a more relevant message.
