# OCR failing

Hi there

I am trying to make an app that has ocr from images as a part of it

i have set up firebase , postman, linked my account and app, and when i test i can capture image but get a delay (seems to be trying to call for or send data ) and then “error failed to recognize text” response.

i am trying to use mlkit instead of native device ocr because of anticipation of poor handwriting and the need for fuzzy pattern analysis so I want to use the internet to send data and receive results.

i don’t see any data received in firebase so im thinking the issue is on the app side

has anyone navigated setting up effective ocr and can guide me in common pitfalls?

I see in another post an opinion that no one has set up ocr successfully on thunkable but I find that hard to believe
