# Maps not working

Hi, I’m new here. I’m trying my first app. I add a map component, but the component has a sentence on it: “+ connect map to display on mobile”. I had my google map key, but its not working and the component doesnt change. any help? thank you

You will have to view the map on the [Thunkable Live](https://thunkable.com/mobile) app to actually see the data from the map. Viewed only within the design tab of your project will show the “Connect map to display on mobile” advisory.
