# Issue with app icon

Hi. when uploading an app icon on Thunkable it appears in the center of the square. that is when you download the apk directly on your phone or when you download it from the play store. the solution would be to remove it from the project entirely so I can just do that step when uploading my app in the store. Unfortunately it seems you can’t remove the app icon from a project once you have uploaded it?? you can only replace it?

Hello,
The only workaround I have found to make it work today is to create a new copy of your project with the default icon and splash screen.
If the workaround works for you, please share the specific project URL with us so we can create a copy project.

Please keep in mind that you may need to do a [hard refresh](https://docs.thunkable.com/getting-started/data-sources/data-sources#hard-refresh-your-browser) of your browser for the changes to take effect in your project. If your [downloaded or published app](https://docs.thunkable.com/publishing-apps/publish) is affected by this bug, you will need to re-download or re-publish your app for these changes to take effect.
