# Is there any way to know the phone is muted

Is there any way to understand that the user’s phone is muted or not?? 🙂

Hey @roumak,

I just tried doing this with the sound component, but it doesn’t seem to be possible.

As an alternative, you could use the Alert component to _remind_ your users to check whether or not their device is muted.

Would that work for you?
