# How do I create user buckets in firebase using the userID?

hello!  
I am trying to create an app with accounts where data will be stored. For some reason firebase is not storing all the data under specific user ids. For example, one of the emails I used as a test to sign in worked well, but another saved without the user id. I’m not quite sure what is going wrong. Any tips?

Here’s an example from one of my own apps.

When a user signs in, there’s checks for errors, saving user info for next time, and email being verified. Then i check if a value exists on my user object, and if not create the user object and assign it some data. I get the same effect that you are trying for above.

I see your “what\_to\_call\_you” values are filled after you’ve done too many hours of head-in-the-books statistical research… 🤣
