# Can you connect my app to a backend in google cloud?

It is the first time that I use a service of this type and what I want to do is connect my app to a backend that I have in a google cloud vm? how do i do that

Most likely, you should have no problems calling data using the Web API component. This is a fairly advanced connection to make but it can be done. I would suggest looking over our [Web API docs and tutorials](https://docs.thunkable.com/blocks/advanced-app-features/web-api). It is always helpful to also make sure you make the connection properly by testing the settings in something like [Postman](https://www.postman.com/).
